Know the enemy, know yourself
The more you play poker, the better you will become at identifying certain types of players. Although it is not a guarantee of complete success, when you have an understanding of how a player approaches the game, you got the much needed knowledge to help you read the cards and win a few pots. During the game, watch your opponents’ betting patterns and style. Things to consider: Do they play a little recklessly, staying in more than they should? Are they too conservative and fold immediately if they think they’re the wrong hands? Do they have the courage to bluff? Keep this in mind for your own games as well. It is good to diversify your approach – you do not want your opponents to get a handle on you.

However, if he has a good side note – if you stay, it could cost you some big bucks.

About Passive players are less skilled versions of tight players. They do not take risks, fold poker hands early, did not want to raise, and rarely, if ever, a bluff. These players may not feel completely confident in your poker skills may have already lost some money, or perhaps just not discovered the thrill of what gambling is all about.
